StatCom Executive Team
Raising Efficiency. Raising Capacity. Raising the Bar.

Ben Sawyer
Executive Vice President, Client Services
Ben Sawyer has over 20 years of experience in managing healthcare operations. He was recruited to StatCom after his own pursuit of electronic patient flow management solutions lead him to StatCom as the vendor-of-choice. While director of performance and process improvement at St. Mary's Health Care System in Athens, Georgia, his experience demonstrated that sustainable improvement required configurable patient flow management technology. Sawyer directed all performance improvement efforts at St. Mary's, a Catholic Health East organization, facilitating more than 30 PI teams. These PI teams addressed diverse cross-vertical projects including: ED throughput, improved perioperative performance, prompt diagnostic report turnaround, implementation of a one-call patient access center, improved nursing documentation and care delivery, and a system-wide health information system implementation. Sawyer developed an effective PI infrastructure for St. Mary's, starting with the formation of departmental PI teams and dashboards, an operations PI team for fast-cycle improvement efforts, and established and chaired the Quality & Performance Improvement (QPI) Council. Previously, he managed operational service lines for two other hospital systems, and served as director of operations, and director of planning and development for two additional healthcare corporations.
