Karl Straub
President

Karl Straub brings over 28 years of healthcare information technology and services experience to his role as president for StatCom. Prior to joining StatCom, Straub held a variety of executive sales, marketing and general management positions with Per-Se Technologies, McKesson Provider Technologies, and SmithKline Beecham HealthCare Services. As a recognized Healthcare Information Technology (HCIT) leader, Straub has effectively led teams to ignite growth through business transformation process, as well as through the commercialization of new business lines. To complement his "drive for results" approach, Straub emphasizes the creation and maintenance of a culture that values each individual contributor within a team setting of honesty, openness, and integrity. Straub is a reputable industry speaker and has conducted a number of interviews with hospital and HCIT publications. He is a magna cum laude graduate of West Chester University with a Bachelor of Science degree.

 

Ben Sawyer
Executive Vice President

Ben Sawyer has taken a lead role in developing the industry's first Hospital Operating SystemTM solution. He has over 25 years experience in managing healthcare operations. He was the executive responsible for system-wide performance and process improvement, and served as the quality council chair for St. Mary's Health Care System (a CHE hospital system in Georgia). Sawyer also managed multiple operational service lines within two other health systems before coming to StatCom. His hospital operational and PI/Quality leadership experience gives him a unique and practical approach when addressing the capacity and patient throughput challenges hospitals and health systems face today. He is pleased to now be overseeing a StatCom team of professionals who are passionately committed to enabling hospitals to transform their operations. Sawyer was recruited to StatCom after his own pursuit of patient throughput management solutions led him to StatCom as the vendor-of-choice. During his tenure at StatCom he has served in a number of leadership roles including Executive Vice President of Client Services responsible for Implementation, Support, Product Management, and Transformation Engineering, as well as the Executive Vice President responsible for Sales and Marketing. Ben is experienced in addressing healthcare industry groups and hospital organizations on the operational challenges facing healthcare executives, process improvement methodologies and technologies, and sharing case studies regarding strategic partner engagements for the establishment of hospital operating systems.

 

Jim Rosenblum, MS, CPHIMS
Executive Vice President, Products and Chief Technology Officer

Jim Rosenblum brings extensive software development and healthcare solution leadership experience to StatCom. He is focused on defining StatCom's product strategy and development, as well as scaling the organization and its processes to support the company's growth. Most recently, he served as chief technology officer for Emmi Solutions where he was integral in shaping their technology vision, strategic planning, developing software, and managing product development and information technology departments. Prior to Emmi Solutions, he served in senior executive roles at I-trax and Ikadega. At I-trax, Inc., a healthcare management company, he was their chief information officer responsible for the company's technology platform, product management, software development and QA departments. Prior to that Rosenblum was chief technology officer of Allscripts, Inc., a billion dollar healthcare information technology company. At Allscripts, Rosenblum managed the product development of its highly successful, hand-held physician prescribing system and was a leader in transitioning the company to its Internet strategy. He contributed significantly to Allscripts becoming a billion dollar company, following its successful IPO. Rosenblum is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS).

 

Tom Overton
Vice President, Professional Services

Tom Overton has over 28 years experience in business and healthcare systems technology and management. He is responsible for the implementation and support of StatCom's products and services. His past employers have included The Coca-Cola Company, CheckFree Corporation, and McKesson Provider Technologies. Overton recently focused on implementing enterprise-wide applications in large hospital customers. His career focus has been on organizational improvement, process improvement and cycle time reductions, customer relationship management, call center management, solution delivery/consulting, and sales support. Overton earned a BBA in Computer Information Systems from Georgia State University.

 

Alyn Ford
Vice President, Product Management

Alyn Ford has over 25 years of experience in the healthcare market. His focus at StatCom is the commercialization of product concepts and creation of sustainable competitive advantage for the company. Ford was most recently the VP of Product Management for McKesson's Managed Services division and was also the VP of Sales for McKesson's Southeastern New Business Sales region. He lead the business development and product strategy effort for Siemens' Integrated Performance Solutions for Cardiology and has lived and worked in Belgium with responsibility for Global Sales and Marketing for the IMPAX Division of AGFA Healthcare. He was one of the initial contributors who established the commercial PACS market in Canada and was also the General Manager for the Medical Imaging Group for ISG Technologies, one of the first commercial 3D imaging companies in the radiology market sector. Ford studied Physics at the University of Alberta; achieved the highest national academic and clinical standing for his year of certification as a Medical Radiation Technologist, and holds a certificate in Business Administration from the University of Saskatchewan.
