QA Manager

StatCom is looking for a Quality Assurance Manager with demonstrated expertise in manual and automated testing. Experience in testing and automation of Rich Internet application with a good handle on troubleshooting UI, Java backend and Oracle (PL/SQL)

Duties and Responsibilities

The qualified candidate will have working experience associated with testing complex n-tier applications, subsystems and environments. Candidate must have demonstrated experience working with object-oriented systems. A sound track record of achieving results and possess excellent communication skills coupled with strong work ethic. Responsibilities include both managerial and technical leadership. QA Lead will be responsible for coordinating test activities, as well as acting as a senior level tester while executing test plans.

Skills/Qualifications

Candidate should have the desire and ability to learn new technologies
QA Lead will be responsible for weekly or daily status reporting. Will be responsible for issue/query, requirement escalation, planning and coordinating of QA tasks, as well as working directly with development staff
The QA Lead position is a hands-on testing position. QA Lead is expected to lead by example and act as a senior level tester and mentor
3 to 5 years hands on testing
Bachelors Degree preferred
1 to 2 years leading and mentoring small teams (up to 10) of QA personnel
Experience working with automated test development a plus
Demonstrated experience creating and documenting test cases and supporting documentation.
Ability to learn and adapt quickly
Excellent communication skills
Proactive leadership skills to drive the team to meet goals and deadlines
Encourage team members to learn and apply new skills
Multi-task, be able to switch focus to meet current demands and switch back to background tasks as time permits
Analyze system log files to isolate problems
Experience working with multi-tier applications from a back-end perspective.
Experience in Windows and Unix environments
Online Issue Tracking systems: Beguile, Jeri
Source Control: CVS, Subversion, Star Team
Essential to have OO Concepts, JUnit, Apache Ant, Perl, Javascript, Basic Java
Web services
Databases, ER Diagrams, SQL, Triggers, PL/SQL Scripting
Application / Web Servers; Tomcat, JBoss, Orion, Configurations, Load Balancing
Testing Methodologies; Load, Stress, Unit, Regression
System Analysis and debugging skills
Familiarity with XML, XSD, XSLT
