Systems Engineer
In this exciting new position you will help create the next generation of enterprise-wide, hospital solutions that actually make a difference to both patients and hospital executives. This revolutionary product enables hospitals to manage patient traffic and logistics, enterprise-wide, providing for the best patient experience while maximizing hospital resource utilization. This proprietary system utilizes a variety of servers running VMware, Windows and Unix-based operating systems and delivers real-time performance, redundancy and fail over. As the Systems Engineer, you will integrate a variety of hardware and software components to create environments for customers, developers, QA, corporate vision-center, etc. Extensive experience and skills are needed in all aspects of system integration utilizing Windows and Unix-based Operating Systems, VMWare, blade servers and NAS systems. More specifically, the Systems Engineer will be responsible for creating test, development, QA and customer environments by integrating components of our system including:
- Blade and conventional-servers
- SAN and NAS storage
- Windows 32- and 64-bit operating systems and / or Unix, Linux, etc.
- VM-ware
- Installing and maintaining source-control, bug-tracking and collaboration tools for the development department including Subversion, Wiki, Jira, and more
- Providing telephone technical support from our corporate office
- Performing other collateral duties that may include new product testing, quality assurance, hardware testing, documentation, and the design or modification of customer training programs
- Performing research and development functions integrating new technologies into StatCom's enterprise solution
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- Blade Servers
- Dual core processors
- Windows 2003 Enterprise Server
- SAN and NAS solutions
- VMWare
- Fail-over, back-up and clustering solutions
- Extensive scripting will be required. Experience with shell, perl, wmi, or other scripting technologies
- Experience configuring and installing J2EE application servers a plus
- Experience with Oracle in the enterprise a plus
- Ability to learn and problem solve in a fast paced, highly dynamic environment
- Unix system-administration capabilities a plus
